Let's talk CBD.

Updated: Mar 3, 2019

I got in contact with the lovely Jessica Mills of MjEsthetics to see if she would be interested in writing a piece on cbd oil and the benefits it has to our health. (www.Mjesthetics.com)

I met Jessica at a local market in Seattle one Sunday and was in awe of her products. She is so passionate about her skin products. I ordered a bottle of her hemp oil a couple days after meeting her. Her hemp oil is organic, GMO free, made locally in Bellingham, WA and THC Free.

I wanted her to write a piece on CBD because there is so much speculation about it.

CBD oil has been a life-changer for me which sounds a little dramatic but it's true. I began using it and found within the first 4 days of taking it twice daily, my anxiety had really calmed down and I generally felt pretty good.

CBD oil does get a rough ride. There is a misunderstanding of what it truly is and that is why I wanted Jessica to write a piece. Pure, organic CBD Oil is a great supplement. Just read this piece below.

Best,

Alisha

We have a trend going on and this health and fitness craze is not going to end anytime soon as we all know it is oh-so-good for us. Along with the demand for a healthy lifestyle come the fads, and yes from diets to supplements the possibilities just seem endless! CBD which stands for cannabidiol just happens to finally be on the radar of many after strict regulations on the plant that it is derived from slowly die! But is all this hype about CBD all it is cracked up to be? I mean after all it only is a the highest antioxidant we have, a neuroprotectant, an analgesic, and anti-inflammatory and is known to for its anti-anxiety effects, migraine relief, acne relief, anti-aging effects, ability to reduce blood sugar levels, increase bone growth, inhibit cancer cell growth, suppress muscle spasms, treat psoriasis, while being able to reduce the risk of artery blockages, reduce seizures and convulsions, reduce small intestine contractions, reduce nausea and is a also a vasorelaxant. How on earth (no pun intended does) CBD have the capability to play hat of so many roles in our bodies? I mean this list above seems almost too good to be true! And it all starts with our internal cannabinoid system, the endocannabinoid system or ECS. A full body system that has been rarely been spoken of until now, that is a base of receptors throughout the body always looking to maintain a stable environment, despite fluctuations in the external environment. It is our a system that creates homeostasis within the body. When an imbalance is detected within our internal environment, the body synthesizes endocannabinoids,(Endo meaning created within) that interact with the cannabinoid receptors. This stimulates a chemical response that works to return the physiological process back to homeostasis. Then what is this hype about taking CBD if we already make our own cannabinoids? But just as we can lack nutrition, we can lack cannabinoids that regulate our body and prevent proper signaling between receptors. When the body does not synthesize enough cannabinoids we start shouting about phytocannabinoids (plant synthesized) that could adjust are bodies back to the perfect homeostasis state. CBD offers one the ability to nourishes and balance the ECS By stimulating and supporting the endocannabinoid system in hopes that one can find relief from a multitude of illnesses and conditions CBD(which does not impair one) is readily available in a (impairing)THC free form as it can be extracted from the hemp plant that has a high amount of CBD vs a low amount of the THC. There are brands out there that do have low amounts of THC in them, along with most all of the products you would find in a retail dispensary. As well there are so many different options out that there and it can be intimidating when trying to find the right product that works for you. I recommend if you want THC free option, look for a CBD hemp oil that is isolate infused, instead of a full plant extract. The bottle should say the milligrams of CBD, what ingredient the CBD is infused into, if it is organic and if it is THC free or not. Then look at the price per milligrams to know if you are overpaying for your CBD. Many companies are overcharging for the same quality CBD if not lower than the CBD(THC free) hemp oil drops I recommend and I have even found a brand that charges 250.00 for the same product that use for 45.00! It it so hard to know what companies create good products, so we try to help find the milligram needed for all that ails and will be following up with more health news on CBD. Also go get your hands on the studies are popping up showing the effects of CBD along with the endocannabinoid system and our health. There are studies available that show the benefits of nurturing our bodies with CBD, even for Dogs and Cats. So, yes this is more than just an HYPE! It is a holistic approach to natural healing, that so many could benefit from as we spread the word, knowledge and break the stigma of this sought after plant!
