Lassi is a very popular yogurt based drink in India, often used to cool down during the warmer months. Lassi is also a probiotic meaning it is great for your gut health.
I absolutely love mango lassi. It is my favorite go to at any Indian restaurant. I don't often make it myself, I gave it a go this time round and I was impressed.
Usually mango lassi is nice and sweet but since this recipe is specifically for the gut, it isn't as sweet. Sugar is not great for your good gut bacteria so I added honey and dates instead of sugar. I also added 1/4 tsp turmeric for it's anti-inflammatory purposes.
Ingredients
1 cup frozen mango or Fresh mango (preferably alphonso or honey mango)
1-2 ice cubes
1 cup Water
1 cup probiotic plain yogurt
2 tbsp honey/agave
2 soaked, pitted dates
1/4 tsp turmeric
Method
Add your ingredients into a blender. Blend well. Pour and enjoy!
I topped mine with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon :)
